Tree Frog
Many frog species have become extinct and many more are on the verge of extinction. The main reason is habitat destruction. The second major cause of frog extinction is a fungus called “Chytrid”. Chytrid is spreading around the globe taking a severe toll on amphibian populations. Since 1970, Chytrid has led to the loss of at least 200 frog species.
The tree frog is sculpted from a gorgeous piece of Marbled Butterscotch Amber found in Poland. The base is carved from Peltogyne, better known as “Purpleheart” wood from Costa Rica.
Even the most difficult to reach areas, and the bottom of this sculpture are carefully shaped and polished to perfection.
